Head of School
A Note from Dr. Margaret Richards
Welcome to St. Bernard Academy! Whether you're already a valued member of our vibrant school community or exploring educational options for your child, we're delighted to connect with you.
At St. Bernard Academy, our mission is to provide an outstanding Catholic education that emphasizes academic excellence, self-discipline, compassion, and a commitment to social justice--all grounded in the rich tradition of the Sisters of Mercy.
Academic excellence is at the heart of our mission. Our dedicated faculty continually strives to create an intellectually challenging environment where students are encouraged to think critically, communicate effectively, and pursue knowledge with curiosity and resilience. Our curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong love of learning, with a strong emphasis on developing the essential skills and character that empower students to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
At St. Bernard Academy, education also extends far beyond academics; it's about preparing students for a lifetime of learning, service, and leadership. Grounded in the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy and a commitment to social justice, we are deeply committed to nurturing students who grow into compassionate, responsible individuals prepared to lead with integrity and make a positive impact on the world. We embrace diversity and foster a culture of respect, kindness, and empathy. Our teachers and staff work tirelessly to ensure that each student feels safe, supported, and challenged to reach their highest potential. We also guide our students to understand their responsibility to others, especially those who may not have a voice or a seat at the table.
An additional cornerstone of our community is radical hospitality. From the moment you walk through our doors, you'll be welcomed with a warm smile, a spirit of peace, and a genuine sense of belonging. At St. Bernard, we celebrate each person for who they are, striving to create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Our doors are open to families from all walks of life, and we are committed to providing a welcoming, supportive space for children of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.
We invite you to explore our school, visit our campus, and experience the warmth, hospitality, and commitment to excellence that define St. Bernard Academy. We look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you in your child's educational journey.
Warm Regards,
Dr. Margaret Richards
